After the test

I have now retired so am no longer teaching but my colleague Joanne can help you. You can contact her on 07841 987021. Please mention that Bumble Bee recommended you.

Once you have passed your driving test I feel like a babysitter who is suddenly not needed. However passing the driving test has been said by some to be just the end of the beginning, and that it is when you really start to learn to drive.

I can help with this as I can give you lessons in topics which are not covered in the driving test to help you master the transition from driving around with me sitting beside you to being out on your own. Examples of these are subjects such as motorway driving. I can also assist those who may have been driving for some time but would like a refresher lesson.

There is also a course supported by the Driving Standards Agency called Pass Plus. This consists of 6 modules designed to develop your practical driving skills in towns and out-of-town, in all types of weather conditions, at night and driving on dual carriageways and motorways.

There is no test at the end, but you are assessed throughout the course and on successful completion of all the modules some insurers offer discounts on car insurance. They feel able to do this because official statistics show that new drivers have far more accidents than those with more experience but this can be reduced amongst those who have undergone more advanced training.

It is important to stress however that the course should be seen as a way of improving both your competence and your confidence in areas not covered in the driving test rather than a route to cheaper insurance.

If you are interested in further training please give me a ring so that we can discuss your requirements. Examples of prices are:

6 hour Pass Plus course £150

2 hour motorway lesson £55
